Abhinav GOLD Bindra: Wow!!

Pic courtesy: Rediff

Script written by GOD!
Movie:Bindra is King@Beijing Cast: Abhinav Bindra and others!

2008 Beijing Olympics, 10m Air Rifle Finals:
India's Abhinav Bindra tied at No.1 with Finland's Hakkinen at the end of 9th round. 10th and last round is on...

Hakkinen of Finland shoots a poor 9.7. India's Abhinav Bindra takes position!
India's hope soars and there is a prayer on the lips of every Indian who watched..for the ever elusive but most coveted individual GOLD at Olympics!

Abhinav shoots a near perfect Bull's Eye..10.8! History is created! Indian National Anthem to be played for the first time for an individual GOLD at Olympics!

I also could not hide my emotions as I watched the historic moment on DD Sports (:-)) with my sister Pooja. We instantly shook hands congratulating each other.

We felt so happy from within having been witness to a great (if we can say greatest?) moment in Indian Sports History!

The whole nation is rejoicing.. (though it's a paradox..a nation of more than a billion pleasantly surprised on winning 1 Gold Medal. Well, let's keep that debate for another post)

11th August 2008 will remain etched in every Indian's memory forever!

Hope Abhinav Bindra's pursuit of excellence inspires many sportspersons to bring back Golden laurels now and hereafter!

Many Congrats Abhinav! You have done INDIA proud!

Perfect Chemistry: Wonderful Ad

I think Airtel usually comes up with some of the best electronic ads. Nowadays, the Madhavan-Vidya Balan series that's being aired on Indian television is truly class apart I feel.

What to say..I guess it's a very nice of mix of direction, scripting, spontaneous acting and above all I guess the perfect chemistry that seems to be between Vidya and Madhavan(the mental connect between them..I think that is what true understanding between a couple should be..ability to understand just by emotions or looking into each other's eyes)..really Kool..Three Cheers for this series and the ad team!

Posting one of my favourites from the series. I like the particular moment when Vidya says "OK"...perfect! and also when she says "Kabka" and throws the cards at Madhavan towards the end :-)

Perfect!

[Vidya, the Many Moods blog best actor award for the month of July'08 goes to you! :)]

Abhi Na Jao and Einstein

Hey ..No typo in the heading..Read on :)
As promised, here comes the song that follows the clip in my previous post. From the movie Hum Dono, Dev Anand requesting Sadhna not to go so soon after they have met.
Really beautiful lyrics..I just have a feeling that the lyricist took a cue from Einstein's famous quote :-)

When asked about relativity, the genius said:

"Put your hand on a hot stove and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour and it seems like a minute. That's relativity"

Nice one..right..and this song am sure captures that feeling with the hero expressing the same when he sings: " Abhi Abhi to aayi ho...Abhi to kuch kaha nahi... Abhi to kuch suna nahi." :-)

Well well..won't dwell much on relativity n all :-) You can read here at leisure.

..As of now, enjoy the soulful romantic duet!! :)

Ghar Se Nikalte...

I guess most of my recent posts have been about romantic songs from Bollywood. So, I just thought may be it's reflecting the title of the blog..Many Moods..and with the onset of monsoon, I guess, the season of romance is here.

So keeping with this theme, I will just like to share one my favourite songs, which cannot miss a mention.

I am sure anyone who has heard this song will agree that it is a gem.

Very well written, sung, and picturised.

If you haven't , have a look and I am sure you will not prove me wrong :-)

One of the most romantic duets: Aapko Pyaar Chupane...

Just thinking of some of the beautiful romantic songs, I think many of you will agree that this song from Nila Aakash comes to our minds immediately. "Aaapko Pyaar Chupane.."...sung by Mohd. Rafi and Asha Bhonsle

The lyrics captures the sublime romantic exchanges between the hero and the heroine so very beautifully. Mellifluous voices of Rafi and Asha and beautiful composition by Madan Mohan surely makes this song touch the romatic chord very naturally.

It is almost like a conversation between two people who know each other so well but still do not want to say in plain words their liking for each other. Lyrics (by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan) that captures this hide-n-seek of the on-screen couple makes this song a treat to hear and watch too.

Meri Sanson Mein Basa Hai

Thinking of beautiful lyrics, in the last decade too..there have been many songs that have stood out. Though people compare today's songs pretty unfavourably with the olden goldies (quite correctly so most of the times) but sometimes we get to hear such songs that are on par with the songs of yester years. One such song I think is this " Meri Sanso Mein Basa Hai...".

Lyrics: Who else? Gulzar Music: Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (superb)
Amazing lyrics filled with heart-warming romantic and beautiful feelings. And the perfect "dil-se" rendering by Udit Narayan makes it a "not-to-be-missed" song!
Here it is:

Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha

As I talked about the song "Tumne Mujhe Dekha" in the last post, I was just reflecting on the lyrics again. The lyrics is made beautiful by the soft intonation given to the way the eyes have conveyed their message. Eyes, as they say are the windows to a person's soul.

And the word's hindi equivalent "Aankh/Aankhein/Nazar" has been used time and again by many poets/lyricists to describe the romantic feelings in many Bollywood songs.

There are so many songs..one that comes to my mind right now..in a very soothing way..is a very beautiful song (from Anpadh) composed by another genius Madan Mohan.
The song: "Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha.."

Mohd Rafi: Tumne Mujhe Dekha Hokar Meharbaan

More we hear these olden goldies, more we realize the beauty of these songs..and why Rafi was a real Genius!

Have been listening to this song from Teesri Kasam recently..."Tumne Mujhe Dekha Hokar Meharbaan..."

Rafi's soulful rendition touches your emotional chord.....the romantic expression in this song is so sublime...all credit to the lyricist and the composer (Majrooh and RD)too.

Here it is..what do you think?
